Did you know that you can help the bees by making sure your garden is bee-friendly?
There are several things that attract a bee nl. Colours, Scent and Patterns.
Bees prefer violet, blue, white and yellow flowers. According to the scientists bees can source more nectar from violet coloured flowers. Sweet scented flowers are simply irresistible to bees – since they use smell to locate suitable flowers for nectar harvesting. Furthermore, patterns and shapes are clearly distinguished by bees.
What you probably didn’t know is that bees can detect electricity! Yes, they can pick up on the electricity present in the air. Their bodies are positively charged as they fly around and then find flowers that are negatively charged. This way they find the flowers that are best suited to be pollinated and polled will just ‘jump’ onto their bodies as they land to harvest nectar.
